UACI STEM Camp
The UACI STEM Camp is an virtual immersive program designed for students eager to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Held seasonally, the camp provides hands-on learning experiences, interactive workshops, and opportunities to work on real-world projects. Participants collaborate with peers and mentors, gaining valuable skills and insights into various STEM fields. The camp fosters a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, innovation, and teamwork. This program aims to make STEM education easily accessible to students from marginalized communities. We are also doing this with the intent to prepare them for successful matriculation into STEM fields of study, and subsequent careers.

UACI Camp Empowers Young Minds Through
Academics
Our Academics component provides a solid foundation in the essentials of math and reading. Through engaging lessons and activities, students will strengthen their skills in these critical areas, enhancing their overall academic performance. We emphasize making learning fun and relatable, encouraging our scholars to embrace their intellectual growth journey with enthusiasm and confidence.
UACI Camp Empowers Young Minds Through
STEM
Prepare for a thrilling exploration of the digital world! Our program delves into STEM, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) concepts, and the fundamentals of programming. Young learners will not only write their own simple code, but also dissect virtual computer components, and even experiment with basic AI interactions. This hands-on experience equips them with vital tech skills for the future, ignites their natural curiosity, and sharpens their problem-solving abilities, paving the way for diverse and impactful roles within the rapidly advancing STEM fields.
UACI Camp Empowers Young Minds Through
African STEM History
Empower young scholars to dive into the rich and vibrant history of Africa’s contributions to STEM in our African History component. Discover the ancient Egyptian advancements in mathematics and astronomy, or explore the sophisticated ironworking techniques developed in various African regions. We expose students to these contributions, encouraging them to view STEM as a vital part of their cultural heritage and to understand how their ancestors perceived and utilized these fields. By learning about the roots of their heritage, our students cultivate a deeper understanding and pride in their identity, fostering a stronger connection to their past, present, and future, and inspiring them to become the next generation of STEM innovators.
2024 UACI Summer STEM Graduates
The UACI Summer STEM Camp 2024 was a phenomenal success, celebrating the graduation of 25 bright young minds, both boys and girls, aged 7 to 17, from cities across the United States. These young scholars delved into the rich history of Black contributions to STEM, learning foundational knowledge in AI technology, cybersecurity, and coding. Our culturally relevant framework emphasized the importance of ethics in STEM, making the lessons deeply resonant and impactful.

Instructors' Dedication
Our instructors’ expertise, patience, and engaging teaching methods brought the interactive and challenging curriculum to life, making learning both enjoyable and stimulating. The positive feedback and the desire from several families to return next year are testaments to the camp’s success.
Parents Love Us
Parents were thrilled with their children’s enthusiasm and commitment, sharing that many students eagerly rose early, excited to participate each day. The students themselves found the camp to be the most fun, engaging, and educational experience they’ve had, with many proudly wearing their camp T-shirts throughout.
Thank you CAP!
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the CAP Center and Dr. Kevin Kornegay for their invaluable sponsorship, which made this camp possible. Their support has empowered a new generation of innovators and leaders in STEM.
